The effects have been tuned down in AEFS2, but not it lacks some important features. Flight Gear has, in this area, some really good features, including wave effects! In AEFS1 orographic winds were seriously flawed. Weather in any soaring-oriented sim is crucial as you point out. I can see the potential there, but AEFS2 in that area still lags way beyond either SilentWings ( my preferred in the flight dynamics ) and Condorsoaring ( my preferred in the soring as a Sport modelling ). IRL I've flown gliders essentially identical to those portrayed in v1 and now v2. Unfortunately the flight dynamics have had some limitations in that field and also the way the two gliders were modelled was certainly not taking the best out of it. It's a good point Murmur, and one I considered as of version 1. You're right though, especially considering how bare-bones current soaring sims are graphically, Ipacs could probably attract quite a bit of that market. I asked on the forums, but since this is essentially a new engine, some functionality has to be done over apparently. If it gets adopted by the gliding community, it could help them financially for the future.Īerofly 1 actually had more detail for gliding.

Condorsoaring etc., and add some hi-fidelity gliders, that could bootstrap it into being the simulator of choice for the virtual gliding community.Ī much faster path than trying to add complex systems, ATC/AI, complex weather, etc. If they further improve the modeling of micro-weather phenomena (thermals, etc.) to get it on par with e.g. These are all features that (I presume) are primarily important if simulating glider flying, a type of flight in which, on the other hand, the limitations of Aerofly FS 2 have zero importance. It has super high FPS, is optimized for high res orthophotos in limited regions, has very good lighting in VFR conditions, and has been designed with VR in mind. The RC8 is optimized for Oculus-Rift and HTC-Vive headsets (the two most popular systems).I think AeroflyFS 2 could be perfect as a "serious" glider simulator. Minimum system requirements (in brackets the recommended ones) Suitable for all IKARUS-RC flight controllers or interfaces Super-real reflections and water reflections, super-real dynamic effects helicopters, jets, multicopters, aerobatics, gliders, scale models, seaplanes, true scale models Autogyros, hang-gliders, folding engine, Flettner-Rotowing 3D mode for VR headsets (Virtual Reality) 246 models / 54 landscapes / 8x 4D landscapes When calibrating in aeroflyRC8, the channels are read in and you can take over your control mode 1 to 4.Ĭontents of the aeroflyRC8 version on DVD You can transmit up to 12 transmitter channels to the simulator. INFO: This set can also be used with other PPM sum signal receivers, e.g. All HoTT receivers with SUM-0 output are suitable. The aeroflyRC8 can thus recognize your RC transmitter as a control unit.

Via the USB interface you can connect your Graupner-HoTT transmitter to your PC via your Graupner/HoTT receiver. The developers of IPACS have left no stone unturned and so we proudly present what is currently technically feasible in RC simulation. Novel flight physics engine for more agile 3D models and more direct response in torn flight figures and turbulence or thermals. Helicopters, scales, jets, gliders, aerobatics - all types of model flying! autogyros, motor kites, Flettner-Rotowing Here are just a few of the highlights that make the switch from the RC7 to the aeroflyRC8 possible. The legitimate successor of the aeroflyRC7 presents itself as a completely revised flight simulator with great new models, ingenious new 4D scenes, innovative technical highlights and many new functions.
